Trying to hold together
the threads of something
that's already gone
already tore

trying to revive the spirit
of something passed
that never was
and never will be no more

Why do I fight to win
when there's nothing to win?
Why do I fight to keep the one
I should never have let in?

fallen stars
do not revive
you can pick up ashes
but can't bring them to life.

I kept trying to catch it
stop its fall
